The question on my favorite vacation spot is surely Carlsbad/San Diego area. My friends and I used to go to Florida. We took a change of pace to San Diego and never went back. Tee times were easily accessible. Using the freeway was better traffic than fighting Florida and intercity. Restaurants were easier to get into and great. We used timeshares for living space, that were very fair. Golf courses were fairly priced from top end (La Costa, Aviara and Bears Paw) to lower end courses, as well. We also tried Palm Springs a couple of times. Loved it, but much more expensive and restaurants were jammed. I stick with my first choice.
