Figure out where you want to hit it, what kind of shot you want to hit, and go through your pre-shot routine if you have one. If you don’t have one…get one. Focusing on what you need to do will clear out most of the “noise” and reduce anxiety. You also might focus on taking the club away a little extra slow to avoid the “Zorro” first hole takeaway.
