One of the best things about golf today is that there is a huge number of players who can win Majors. Look at what has happened in the women’s game over the past few years. Very few of the “so called favorites” have one–I bet no one had Patty Tavatanakit on their radar screen. The same goes for the men–although the list here is shorter.
Sure Jordan Spieth as played as well as anyone this spring, but it’s tough to win back to back. Lee Westwood has played well. But Augusta brings out the best in about 20 players and those that have not played well find a way to be in the hunt on the back 9 Sunday.
I don’t have a favorite but it sure would be nice to see Lee Westwood win a major–he’s way overdo and really easy to root for.
